What is EDYS
EDYS (pronounced eddies; noun):
- Abbreviation for Engadine District Youth Services
- A vibrant, safe & fun place for Young People aged between 11 & 18 years
- One of the premier Youth Services in the Sutherland Shire
Example 1: "Let’s go to EDYS and play pool and grab a milk shake"
Example 2: "I think I might talk to one of the workers at EDYS about what’s going on"
Engadine District Youth Services, EDYS to our friends, is a community based, non-government organisation that works with Young People 11 to 18 years and the people that are important to them such as parents, carers and extended family.
We operate a vibrant youth centre where Young People can relax with friends, get involved in fun activities and chat to qualified Youth Workers about what’s important to them.
EDYS is an Incorporated Association governed by a Board of Management made up of local professionals and residents- this ensures that the organisation has grass roots contact with the community it is a part of. EDYS also has Deductible Gift Recipient status and is listed as a Public Benevolent Institute with the ATO, so that means that donations or sponsorship of EDYS may be tax deductible and goes directly to supporting work within Engadine, Heathcote and the Sutherland Shire.
